Convert’s modular design allows for the deployment of the application in a highly distributed capacity.  This distributed nature creates a system that is both extremely scalable, fault-tolerant and inherently secure.

All communications between the Convert Clients and the Convert™ Server occur over standard HTTP/HTTPS sessions or a dedicated TCP socket, both of which can be directed through a load balancer to a cluster of JBoss Application servers.  This distributes the load across several servers and provides an excellent fail-over system in case of application or hardware failure.

All components of the Convert Application are hosted on a private network, with all access to the application filtered through a cluster of hardware firewall appliances.  To provide the highest level of data security for our customers, each customer database is completely independent of each other.

By default, the only access allowed through the firewall to the Convert system is the direct communication from the Convert Clients to the HTTP/HTTPS Server Cluster.

However, a secure connection to the Convert database can be provided via a VPN client connection if required by the customer.
